How to Attract Success

There’s no doubt that most people in life are looking to be successful. Whether it’s a child who’s thinking of what they want to be when they grow up, or a college student who’s questioning their career path, success isn’t always easily obtained. However, even though it’s often difficult to be successful, one major reason, is that people are going about it the wrong way. Many think that if they keep following the yellow brick road, that they’ll see a pot of gold at the end of the tunnel. Believe it or not, though, success must be attracted and not pursued. The reason why is because attracting success open up a window of opportunities for you. For example, you could get to meet new people, who might even open the door of new opportunities for you.

If you decide to pursue success, however, you might eventually find that the path you’ve chosen is the wrong one. For example, let’s say you were someone who’s always been interested in medicine. When you get to college, you then decide to invest in a nursing major. However, after a few weeks, you find out it’s not the right decision for you. Between the long hours, endless tests, and overwhelming workload, it becomes too much for you to handle, and then you switch to a different major. See what I mean? Being successful in life isn’t always about choosing the right career path. With that said, what are some ways to attract success in your life? Overall, here are a few things to consider.

#1. Don’t Wait For People to Come to You

Too often, many people looking for success, are waiting for others to come to them. In other words, because they have professionalism and all the right credentials, they think employers and business owners will be attracted to them like a magnet. While it is true that they’ll take interest in you, that’s only if you get their attention. You need to sell yourself, so that they can see what kind of person you are. Don’t just sit there expecting others to come to you, but get yourself out there. The question is, how do you go about that? Let’s look at a few examples.

First of all, when submitting job applications, especially online, be sure your resume and cover letter are professional. Employers receive hundreds of applications per day, and they might just discard yours if it doesn’t stand above the rest. However, there’s an extra step you need to take as well, which is creating your own portfolio and/or business website. This helps because it shows them that you’re a personable human being, and not another resume and cover letter statistic. Having your own professional website helps to break that barrier, and shows them you’re a person, if that makes sense. After all, considering the number of applications employers receive daily, not to mention the fact that they don’t even see your face until the interview, many hiring managers don’t necessarily look at the applicants as “people”, per se. A personal website gives them a better idea of who you are even before the interview, especially if you use a profile picture. Selling yourself is a major key to attracting success.

#2. Take The First Step Despite Any Shortcomings

There are two major reasons why people aren’t as successful as they could be. First of all, they’re afraid to take that first step, out of fear of failure. However, there are those who do step out, but immediately give up when things don’t go the way they expect. One of the keys to attracting success, is stepping out in spite of shortcomings that come your way.

After all, most people who are successful in life, didn’t get where they are without a few roadblocks and failures. Disappointments happens, plans change, and you might even have to take a different path in order to attract success. For example, let’s say you were applying for a job where you fit all the qualifications. Even though you did a great job during the interview, however, the hiring management with someone else. While that’s definitely disappointing, how will you handle it? Will you give up on trying to attract success, or will you keep moving forward? Attracting success isn’t just about stepping out when you’re fearful, it’s also about persevering through the trials and disappointments.

#3. Know How You Want To Attract Success

Lastly, you should know how you want to be successful as well. The unique thing about success is that people obtain it in different ways, and that they can apply it to any area of their life. What are you looking to succeed in? Are you trying to fix your marriage? Are you drowning in student loans and seeking to escape the nightmare? Are you looking to attract employers to your portfolio? Whatever it is, set short-term and long-term goals on how you plan to see it through. Remember, though, that success must be attracted and not pursued. Make sure your goals relate to how you plan to attract this success, and not necessarily how you’re going to pursue it.
